Replacement of obsolete double-suction smoke exhausters

The customer replaced the electric motors on some old smoke exhausters. Subsequent inspection of the smoke exhausters demonstrated that they also have to be replaced. We were tasked with developing a smoke exhauster for the existing motor and to have it fit in the existing location, taking into account the foundations and flues. There were utility lines running directly next to the smoke exhauster, which also had to be taken into account.

• increasing productivity with increased energy consumption;
• extensive control by means of guide vanes.

A double-suction smoke exhauster with a 3250 mm impeller was developed. In order to install the exhauster on an old foundation while keeping its axis at the same elevation we had to conduct some tests on the aerodynamic bench-testing rig, which resulted in modified performance parameters.

All the objectives were completed. The equipment was delivered to the customer on time.
