Reduction of abrasive wear of clinker kiln's smoke exhauster
Objective
The customer's clinker kiln operates without any filter, which results in intense wear of smoke exhauster due to hot dusty gases.
Develop and manufacture a smoke exhauster resistant to abrasive wear.
Solution
Our engineers applied a number of design solutions to change the movement of gas in the flow part of the smoke exhauster to eliminate particle separation and increase flow dispersion. An updated aerodynamic configuration with a change in the angle of collision of abrasive particles with the blade was used. Additional measures were taken to reduce adhesion to the impeller. Vulnerable areas were to be protected by materials with high surface hardness.
The smoke exhauster was designed with installation on the old foundation and preservation of existing flues in mind.
Result
The smoke exhauster of the new design has demonstrated excellent performance during operation. The equipment’s service life increased at least 2-fold.
